Paintings by Volodymyr Voroniuk opens Friday Feb 3 at 7 pm. The artist brings spring’s beauty to life with his vivid images and colorful floral scenes. His art evokes memories of Ukrainian folkloric characters. Thru Feb 26, 2012.
The Ukrainian National Museum invites you to the opening of “Paintings by Volodymyr Voroniuk” on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7 pm. Voroniuk, an accomplished Ukrainian artist from the Bukovyna region of Ukraine, brings spring’s beauty to life with his vivid images and colorful floral scenes and landscapes.
A graduate of the Vyzhnyckiy College of Applied Art and the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute, Voroniuk is one of the most accomplished artists from the Bukovyna. In 1991 the artist began to exhibit his work internationally. A winner of several international art competitions, including first prize for his art work at the Lelingen-2000 Art Festival in Luxembourg, he has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the world with his art. Volodymyr Voroniuk is a member of the National Society of Artists in Ukraine.
The artist boldly reveals his impressions of life in a colorful spectrum. His works evoke memories of Ukrainian folkloric characters. Showcased landscapes show the artists love of the original beauty of the Carpathians. His creative presence diversifies contemporary Ukrainian art giving it a language that is understood worldwide. Art enthusiasts will be able to meet Voroniuk at the exhibit opening. Exhibit continues through February 26, 2012.
The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago. Hours: Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Adults $5.00, Children under 12 - Free.
